Equestrian tour for novice riders

 Meeting at the airport. Today we will reach Kemin National Park, check into the hotel, and have lunch. After lunch, we will get acquainted with the horses. A detailed briefing on how to handle the horse will be provided. You will try to mount and dismount the horse, ride a little along the road, and learn the rules of interacting with the animal. In the evening, dinner will be served in the guest house.

After breakfast, we will drive you to the starting point of the horseback ride. You will mount the horses and ride to Chimbulak Gorge. The ride will take about 4 hours. For lunch, we will prepare a picnic by the mountain river. After the horseback ride, we will return to the car and head back to the guest house for some rest. In the evening, a dinner featuring the national dish Beshbarmak and aromatic borsaks will await you.

Today will be an interesting and eventful day. The horses will be waiting for us near the guest house. We will ride up Kaindy Gorge and reach the foot of Kampashka Peak, which is 3932m high, by lunchtime. Of course, we won’t climb the peak, but we will see glaciers and steep cliffs, as well as enjoy the stunning view of Kemin National Park. After an active photo session with the glaciers and cliffs, we will descend to a meadow by the river where we will prepare lunch for you. After lunch, we will leisurely return to the guest house. For dinner, you will be served the exotic dish Dumgazy, made from selected bull tails – believe me, it’s very delicious.

 On this day, we will change locations, give the horses a rest, and take a short hike. We will hop in the car and head towards Son Kul Lake. On the way, we will stop at Boom Gorge and take a hike in the Konorchek canyons. The hike will take about 3 hours. You will see a large valley surrounded by bizarre red cliffs and winding canyons. After the hike, we will stop for lunch at a café and continue our journey. By evening, we will ascend the Kalmak Ashu Pass, and the majestic Son Kul Lake will unfold before us. We will arrive at the yurt camp, settle in, have dinner, and relax.

Agree, waking up in a yurt is something special, especially when your yurt is at an altitude of 3000m above sea level. In general, this morning promises to be very unusual. When you wake up, your horses will be waiting for you near the yurt camp.
After a hearty breakfast, we will saddle up and ride to the panorama of the Kalmak Ashu ridge. We will ascend to an altitude of 3450m, from where a fantastic view of Son Kul Lake will open up. There we will have a high-altitude photo session before returning to the yurt camp. We will have lunch and rest. After lunch, you can take a walk along the lake shore or go boating. In the evening, a delicious dinner awaits you, featuring yak meat kurdak. After dinner, we will sit by the campfire and gaze at the starry sky; you won’t see stars like this anywhere else.

Today we will ride to the Teskey Torpu Pass, also known locally as the 33 Parrots. This is one of the most beautiful passes in Kyrgyzstan. We will reach the 33 serpentine turns and turn onto the mountain ridge adjacent to the pass, cross the saddle, and make a stop with a magnificent view of the pass and the surrounding mountains. Here we will rest, eat, take tons of photos, and then return to the yurt camp. In the evening, a delicious dinner awaits you in the yurts, featuring Kyrgyz shorpa, kumyz, borsaks, and vegetables roasted over coals.

Today we will descend into the valley and reach the town of Kochkor. There we will show you how local artisans make felt products. Afterward, we will have lunch at a café and head to Bishkek. In the evening, you will fly home.

 The hotels and guest houses we work with are clean and cozy. All hotels provide double occupancy with breakfast included, and each room has a shower, toilet, TV, and Wi-Fi. In the yurt camps, accommodation is shared (3-4 people in one yurt), with shared showers and toilets located outside. If you want single accommodation, please inform us in advance, and we will book a separate room for you. Please note that most guest houses in the regions of Kyrgyzstan do not have single rooms and charge for 2 people for a double room.
At the time of booking your tour, I will check the availability of rooms in hotels and guest houses for your selected dates, book them for you, and send you links to the websites or social media of these establishments. After these procedures, no changes in accommodation can be made.

 All breakfasts and dinners are included in the tour price. For lunch, we will be in the mountains, and we will prepare lunches and hot tea for you, which are also included in the tour price.
Lunch and dinner on day 7 of the trip are not included in the tour price.

The horses we use for the rides are calm and obedient. They always walk in a column, one after the other, following the horseback guide. It is very easy to manage the horse; we will teach you all the necessary skills to handle the horse on the first day of the tour.
During the horseback rides, you will be accompanied by 2 guides on horses. They will help you mount and dismount, accompany you throughout the route, and make stops for rest and photo sessions in the most beautiful locations.

 For our trips, we use 4WD jeeps or minibuses. Our drivers have extensive experience driving in the mountains and drive carefully and safely. The driver is also a guide; he will tell you all about the locations you visit, show you the most beautiful and interesting places, check you into hotels and yurt camps, resolve any organizational issues, keep track of timing during the tour, provide you with meals according to the program, and fulfill any of your wishes.

The climate in Kyrgyzstan is moderately continental, warm, and dry. The average summer temperature is 26-30 degrees.
In the mountains, it gets cooler with increasing altitude (10-15 degrees), and at night, the temperature can drop to 0-5 degrees.
Please bring comfortable shoes, a light jacket or down jacket, a raincoat, a hat or cap, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimwear, and a small towel.

The currency in Kyrgyzstan is the som. In most places we will visit, only cash payments are accepted. You can pay by card at large chain stores like Globus and Frunze. Therefore, you will need to have a supply of cash in som. Money can be withdrawn from ATMs at the airport and in banks or exchanged in all major settlements along our route.
